Top 10 Questions Asked in a Job Interview

Top 10 Questions Asked in a Job Interview

An interview is an official conversation between the interviewer and the interviewee. Most of us often fumble while answering in an interview which may reflect lack of preparation and, sometimes, lack of confidence which may not leave a good impression on you prospective employer.

Top 10 Questions Asked in a Job Interview

Why do you want this job?

This is one of the most predictable questions. Here the interviewer may be expecting an answer which indicates that you are serious about the job and you have not forwarded your resume just because there is an opening. You should convince him or her that you are the right person for the job.
Tell him or her that your skills and your qualifications are tailor made for the job and it is something you are passionate about. Also, it is advisable to research about the company and job profile a little in order to make you answer sound genuine.

What are your goals?

You can talk about your long term and short term goals. You could say, "My long term goal is to grow within the company and to attain leadership qualities. As far as my short term goals are concerned, I would like to serve the organisation to the best of my ability."

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Try to answer by minimising your weaknesses and focusing more on your strengths. Talk about your personality, skills, experience and abilities. Illustrate your answers with real life examples.  Elaborate more on your leadership qualities and originality. Don't pretend to be perfect, talk about those weaknesses which you have improved upon.

Tell me about yourself?

This is one of the simplest questions asked in an interview. Tell him or her about yourself, your hobbies, achievements, educational qualifications etc.  Summarise your experiences and improvement made in the work performance. Be confident and convey your enthusiasm for the job.

What are your achievements?

Avoid personal achievements, chose work related examples which focus on your abilities and strengths relevant for the job.

Why should we hire you?

Talk about your skills and experience related to the job.  "I have all the abilities suitable for this job and I assure you that I would work for the welfare of the company and will put all my effort for the company's growth and self development."

Where do you see yourself in next five years?

Don't be unreal; be honest and realistic about your future goals. Talk in terms of achievements and responsibilities.

What are your salary expectations?

It is an advantage if the employer tells you the range first. Mention your previous salaries but make sure you sound realistic and honest. You can tell them your preference but avoid salary negotiations at the interview if you can. If you are keen to work with the organisation then salary won't be a big issue. The salary offered will depend on your skills, qualifications and experience.

What do you know about our organization?

Be prepared to answer this question. Research about the company, its policies, customers it deals with, the product and services it offers prior to the interview.

Any questions you have?

When your interviewer wraps up your interview, you may ask him about the work, company and the team you will work with. This shows your level of enthusiasm and seriousness towards the job.

Ways to Get Effective Body Language For Job Interviews

Ways to Get Effective Body Language For Job Interviews

Job interviews are not just about good resumes, knowledge and the words you speak. Your body language is equally important that not only tells a lot about you, but may also stand as an important factor between getting hired or not. So, Some tips are below for you.

Interview Time

1. Make a pleasing entrance :-

An interview starts even before you get into the interview room. You never know who could be in the parking lot with you, looking at you from a window or standing next to you in the elevator. The key is to keep calm and you will appear calm. From entering the office building to waiting in the common hall to entering the interviewer's cabin, your body should tell anyone who might be watching that you're confident and prepared.

2. The handshake :-

Job interviews mean handshakes. So not only maintain a formal distance with the interviewer while doing this, but also offer your hand with the palm slightly up so that your interviewer's hand covers yours. Since you are going to shake with your right hand, be prepared for it by arranging your belongings on your left side.
Remember, never cover the other person's hand with the hand you are not shaking with.

3. Sit properly :-

Sit upright but in a relaxed fashion leaning slightly forward at about a 10 to 15 degree angle towards the interviewer. This sends the message that you are interested and involved.

4. Maintain eye contact :-

Always maintain eye contact and be an active listener. Keep nodding lightly while the other person is speaking so as to give an impression that you are interested in what the other person is saying. Also, keeping eye contact forms a positive connection and tends to reduce the tension. This also expresses your self-confidence.

5. Be aware of your hands :-

The best thing to do with your hands is to rest them loosely clasped in your lap or on the table, if there is one. Fiddling with hair, face or neck sends the message of anxiety and uncertainty. Body language experts say that touching the nose, lips or ears gives a negative impression and can signal that the candidate is lying. Avoid keeping your hands folded or crossed. This signals that you are defensive and even portrays a threatening and negative attitude.

6. Show synchronisation :-

Synchronise yourself with the other person. Read his/her habits and follow his/her facial cues and impressions. This would enable you to know if the other person is or isn't agreeing to your comment. Then make impromptu modifications in your speech as the occasion demands.

7. Avoid drooping and looking downcast :-

Finally, avoid drooping and looking downcast, no matter how the interview session is going. Be forward, confident and direct when you speak or act.

Ways to Start Your Business With No Capital or No Money

1. Build your business around what you know:-

Instead of venturing off into uncharted territory, make sure that you build your business around your skills and knowledge. The less you have to rely on outside sources the better. When your business is built around your own personal expertise you can eliminate consultants and outside assistance.

2. Take advantage of free advertising and marketing:-

There are several ways to generate a buzz for your business without breaking the bank. Social media is a great way to gain exposure and interact with potential customers. You can also reach out to local media and offer your expertise. Make as many local media contacts as you can and be extremely responsive with their requests. This can lead to them to branding you as the local authority, generating plenty of free press for your business.

3. Build up sweat equity:-

When I first started my business I worked around the clock, handling every aspect of the business as well as the marketing and growth. All of the hard work and long days that you put in isn’t for nothing. You are building a brand and your hard work is essentially increasing the value of your business. Your sweat equity will come into play if you ever decide to sell off a piece of your company or take on a partner.

4. Get ready to hustle:-

Hard work is an absolute necessity, but when you are starting a business with little to no capital then you must be prepared to dedicate everything you have into making the business a success. This might mean cold calling, handling customer support, dealing with billing and accounting, and every other working part of your business. You will wear many hats and it will require the majority of your time and energy if you are to make it.

5. Don’t get buried in credit card debt:-

There is a smart way and a suicidal way to use credit when starting a business. New computers, office furniture, phones and supplies can all quickly add up. Instead of purchasing everything at once and throwing it all on a credit card, use your company’s revenue to finance your expenses. Eliminating the stress and burden of debt will greatly increase the chances of creating a successful business.

6. Avoid unnecessary expenses:-

You are going to have plenty of expenses, and there are some that just can’t be avoided. What you can avoid though is overspending. Take something as simple as business cards. You could drop $1,000 on 500 metal business cards that give off the “cool” factor, or you could spend $10 on 500 traditional business cards. Being frugal in the beginning can be the difference between success and a failed business.

7. Tell everyone you know what you are doing:-

Inform your family, friends, business contacts and past colleagues about your new business. Call, send emails and make your new venture known on your social-media profiles. Your friends and family members can help you spread the word, and past business contacts can introduce your brand to their professional contacts as well. This type of grass roots marketing can help introduce your company to a much larger audience.

8. Make sure your receivables policy won’t sink you:-

If your business is a retail operation then this isn't going to apply, but if you are providing services such as consulting or products to retailers you need to make sure that your payment policy is well thought out. Can you remain above water with net-15 or net-30 terms? Don’t base your receivables on what you think your customers will want. Base them on what is going to make your business operate successfully.

8 Ways to Train Your Brain to Learn Faster and Remember More !!!

8 Ways to Train Your Brain to Learn Faster and Remember More !!!

1. Work your memory:-

If you think this is anything less than a feat, then think again.
The practice of both remembering events or things and then discussing them with others has actually been supported by brain fitness studies. Memory activities that engage all levels of brain operation—receiving, remembering and thinking—help to improve the function of the brain.
Work your memory
Now, you may not have dancers to correct, but you may be required to give feedback on a presentation, or your friends may ask you what interesting things you saw at the museum. These are great opportunities to practically train your brain by flexing your memory muscles.

2. Eat right–and make sure dark chocolate is included:-

Foods like fish, fruits, and vegetables help your brain perform optimally. Yet, you might not know that dark chocolate gives your brain a good boost as well.
Now that you know how to train your brain, it’s actually time to start doing. Don’t just consume this content and then go on with your life as if nothing has changed. Put this knowledge into action and become smarter than ever!
Eat Black dark chocolate
When you eat chocolate, your brain produces dopamine. And dopamine helps you learn faster and remember better. Not to mention, chocolate contains flavonols, antioxidants, which also improve your brain functions. So next time you have something difficult to do, make sure you grab a bite or two of dark chocolate!

3. Avoid crossword puzzles:-

Many of us, when we think of brain fitness, think of crossword puzzles. And it’s true–crossword puzzles do improve our fluency, yet studies show they are not enough by themselves. Are they fun? Yes. Do they sharpen your brain? Not really.
Crossword Puzzles

4. Do something different repeatedly:-

Think back to when you were three years old. You surely were strong enough to hold a knife and a fork just fine. Yet, when you were eating all by yourself, you were creating a mess. It was not a matter of strength, you see. It was a matter of cultivating more and better neural pathways that would help you eat by yourself just like an adult does. And guess what? With enough repetition you made that happen !!!
Something Different
By actually doing something new over and over again, your brain wires new pathways that help you do this new thing better and faster.

5. Learn something new:-

Learning a new language exposes your brain to a different way of thinking, a different way of expressing yourself.
Learn Something New
It might sound obvious, but the more you use your brain, the better its going to perform for you. For example, learning a new instrument improves your skill of translating something you see to something you actually do.

6. Spend time with your loved ones:-

If you are an extrovert, this holds even more weight for you. At a class at Stanford University, I learned that extroverts actually use talking to other people as a way to understand and process their own thoughts.
Spend More Time With Your Loved Ones
If you want optimal cognitive abilities, then you’ve got to have meaningful relationships in your life.  Talking with others and engaging with your loved ones helps you think more clearly, and it can also lift your mood.

7. Work your body:-

Even briefly exercising for 20 minutes facilitates information processing and memory functions. But it’s not just that–exercise actually helps your brain create those new neural connections faster. You will learn faster, your alertness level will increase, and you get all that by moving your body.
Work Your Body
You knew this one was coming didn’t you? Yes indeed, exercise does not just work your body; it also improves the fitness of your brain.

8.  Follow a brain training program:-

The Internet world can help you improve your brain function while lazily sitting on your couch. A clinically proven program like BrainHQ can help you improve your memory, or think faster, by just following their brain training exercises.

How to Become a Leader in Your Industry Using Social Media

How to Become a Leader in Your Industry Using Social Media

Be A Leader Not A Boss
1. Find the Right Social Channel First :-

The first steps to becoming a thought leader in your industry are deciding which social platforms fit your expertise and audience and then directing your efforts to those particular channels.
They have a product that is highly specialized to marketers and business owners. In order to capture the attention of that professional audience, Market software has to know where those people spend their time. In this case that social channel is LinkedIn—so that’s where Market software spends most of their time sharing content.

2. Cross-check and Engage :-

The best place to share your content as the first point up is on the network where your audience is most active. However, that doesn’t mean you should disregard the other social channels. You want to give your content the best chance at being seen.
Before you start sharing, research best practices on each social platform. Even if you have the best content and a receptive audience, your shares will fall flat if they aren’t spread effectively.

Learn How To Lead Better
3. Create Relevant Blog Content :-

Many brands complain that social doesn’t work for them because they have nothing to post. The reality is, they’re probably right. If you aren’t busy doing, creating or finding relevant and interesting things to post about, social media will never work for your brand.
In most instances blogging is in an important part of conveying expertise. Of course, different industries call for different types of content, so look at creating videos, case studies, whitepapers and infographics—whatever works for your audience.

4. Mingle With Social Influencers :-

Fashion retailer Zara famously built their brand by eschewing expensive marketing and simply building their stores next to high-end fashion retailers. The lesson here is that an association with the right brands (or individuals) is a valuable asset when it comes to establishing credibility.
By inviting these influencers to work with them, Buffer is able to get free quality content and tap into the influencer’s established trust and credibility when those influencers share the content across their own social channels.

Lead In A Effective Leadership Way
5. Explain the Objective :-

Always start by defining the objective of your Twitter chat. Find a topic that will appeal to your target audience. The chat needs to provide value to your audience to be successful. Don’t make it just about your company; tailor it to how you can help your community. For example, if you’re in the photography industry, invite guests to discuss photo editing tips, black-and-white photography, photography inspiration, etc.

6. Invite New Friends :-

Invite New Friends everyday. Start securing Friends at least two weeks prior to your chat. If it’s your first Twitter chat, make sure you have a commitment from at least four Friends a month in advance. Friends are often busy, so you need to book them in advance.

THE END

Thanks n Regards,
Saini

Five Things Successful Leaders or Managers do to Build Environments That Empower Employees

Five Things Successful Leaders or Managers do to Build Environments That Empower Employees

As a Manager or Leader, do you let your people assume more responsibility when they are able?  Do you know when that is, or do you keep telling yourself that they aren't ready yet?

Manager or Leader
Following are five things successful leaders do to build environments that empower employees :-

1. Create a favourable environment in which people are encouraged to grow their skills.
2. Give power to those who have demonstrated the capacity to handle the responsibility.
3. Give people discretion and autonomy over their tasks and resources.
4. Don't second-guess others' decisions and ideas unless it's absolutely necessary.
5. This only undermines their confidence and keeps them from sharing future ideas with you.

Team Work
Successful leaders and managers today are willing to exercise their leadership in such a way that their people are empowered to make decisions, share information, and try new things. Part of building an empowering environment is dependent on the leader's ability to run interference on behalf of the team. The leader needs to make sure people are safe doing their jobs.

5 Tips To Crack B-School Campus Placements

5 Tips To Crack B-School Campus Placements

Placements is an eagerly awaited event at every Business School and MBA college. The entire process is generally spread over two to three months’ time in top B-Schools. Some institutes also go for rolling placements that continue throughout the year. 12 MBA placement terms you should know Placements are extremely important in every MBA grad’s life. After two years of slogging and studying case studies incessantly, finally placement season arrives.
Placement season gearing steam in every B-School and preparing for it requires a lot of patience and skill. As students go on to score the perfect job, here are five crucial tips to help you crack the placements.

Tips To Crack B-School Campus Placements
1. Clearing Aptitude Test :-

Several companies have an aptitude test round in the initial stages. Many candidates undermine the importance of this stage and just prepare for interview stage. More than 50% candidates are rejected at this stage. Therefore it becomes extremely crucial to clear this test with flying colours. Keep practicing aptitude questions regularly and prepare well. Do some research on the kind of questions a company generally asks in the aptitude test. Some of the common topics are quant, logical reasoning, and data interpretation and so on. Some firms even have group discussion (GD) rounds. So, remember the general GD rules and make a positive statement.

2. The Interview :-

The purpose of the interview is to assess the candidate’s suitability to the role. So, stay confident and be calm during the meeting. Don’t show your desperation for the job. Also, let the interview speak and don’t interrupt them unnecessarily. Go through some frequently asked questions such as weakness and strengths questions, profile suitability and so on. Be clear about your long term goals and answer accordingly. Also, ask a few questions about the job profile or the company. This reflects your interest.
Also, if you don’t know the answers to a question, just admit it. Don’t try to make up answers. Be honest and avoid creating bad impression.

3. The Resume :-

Resume is the first thing that prospective employers see of you. So, it’s important to make it count. Recruiters go through more than 100 resumes in a week. There’s no ideal resume length, but less is always good. Typically, employers take about 30 seconds to review a CV. So, instead of writing an autobiography, include profile-specific relevant information. Here are 6 resume tips for MBA freshers.

4. Research :-

It’s important to do some research on the both the company and current market trends. You shouldn’t be clueless when the employer asks you about the upcoming trends of the field. Read up on the current market plans of the firm, their financial reports and other trends. Be attentive during the company presentation.

5. Attire and Punctuality :-

These are the two most common but important points associated with interviews. Do not arrive late for your test or interview. It’s better to reach the venue before time. Dressing suitably is also crucial. Wear a formal attire and follow the etiquette. Be calm and confident. And lastly, speak clearly.

10 Ways To Bring More Traffic To Your Website

10 Ways To Bring More Traffic To Your  Website

Social Media Examiner shows that blogging or written content is still the priority of marketers on social media. But the key here is having blog posts that are of high quality, have a call to action and are amplified well on social media.
The challenge here is how to let your post stand out in the busy, fast-paced world of social media. Think of social media as a way to amplify your posts. And while it is an advantage, there are simple ways to make your posts pop on social media, without having to crunch data.

Increase Your Website Traffic In Minute's

These are As Follows :-

1. Create a 6-Second Preview of Your Post with Vine.

Vine is an iPhone app that lets you create 6-second looping video shorts. A Vine video is a great way to give viewers a 6-second teaser about the blog post contents.

2. Start with an incredible, attention-grabbing headline.

Make your headline click bait-y (must-click-this-link!). According to studies, eight out of ten read headline copy only, while the remaining two are the only ones who bother reading the rest. Perhaps this is why Copy blogger suggests that you spend half of your time writing headlines. This tip isn’t really far fetched. With a steady stream of data that people consume every hour, they tend to scroll, screen, and decide which ones are worthy of more reading time in just five seconds.

3. Pin Your Post to a Pinterest Group Board.

Pinterest allows you to pin on individual boards and collaborate by pinning to contributor boards. The benefit of pinning to a contributor board is increased exposure. When you pin to a contributor board, your fellow contributors see the pin and so do their followers. The more members and followers a group board has, the more people will see your pin.

4. Include images or at least one image.

Did you know that posts with images are twice as likely to get shared on Facebook and Twitter than those without? Plus, blog posts that use Open Graph meta tags are three times more likely to get shared because they allow users to customize thumbnails pulled by social networking websites.

5. Take Advantage Of Free-To-Use Sites.

There are many, many sites out there that allow you to publish content free-of-charge, so take advantage of them to get additional exposure. Places like Hub Spot or Squidoo are good places to start if you don’t want to deal with a lot of setup. Tumblr, WordPress and Blogger blogs are free, easy to create and fairly well-optimized for search engines. I call these types of sites “supporting sites,” as they help me get additional exposure in Google and help my target market find my work.

6. Get creative. Use text on your images.

We will say it once again: people are naturally drawn to anything visual. That’s why taking your images a step further by adding text over it will make your posts pop more, as it gives it a more cohesive look with the article. You don’t have to have intermediate graphic design skills as tools like Canva and PicMonkey allow you to do this with very minimal technique knowledge.

7. Promote Your Article Across a “Wider” Variety of Platforms.

Everyone is using Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn to promote their content. It’s tempting to focus only on these four networks because they have popularity and community numbers on their side.
However, you get a competitive advantage when you share your content on smaller or less well-known networks. These sites often have active, focused audiences and offer less competition for attention, so your content will stand out.

8. Capitalize on the power of suggestion.

Once you have them read your posts, make it easier for them to share. Utilize sharing buttons so they can easily retweet or share your posts in their timelines.

9. Share Your Content On Social Sites.

Sharing your content on sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, etc., only takes a moment, but the results can be great if others pick it up and then share it with their following. It’s an easy way to get traffic based on real human recommendations — and that’s the kind of traffic we can never get enough of.

10.  Make use of color psychology.

Studies show that if you learn how to make use of colors and balance them, you will be able to subconsciously draw people to your posts since we respond subconsciously to colors.

Thank You !!!

10 Tips For Effectively Using Your LinkedIn Status Update

10 Tips For Effectively Using Your LinkedIn Status Update :-

One of the features of LinkedIn that tends to be underutilized is the “LinkedIn Status Update” (also called your “Network Update”) in your LinkedIn Profile. Your status update “block” is a white box located just below your picture on your “View My Profile” page. If you don’t see such a block, then you’ve not posted a status update.

Source :- Linkedin

From your LinkedIn home page or your “Edit My Profile” page, you can change your status update as frequently as you desire. EVERY time you update your status, the home page of ALL of your network connections is “pinged” with your status update. Status updates are also distributed to your network via email when LinkedIn sends you your weekly “Network Update.” Your latest status update is always displayed on your LinkedIn profile.
Update your LinkedIn

Updating your LinkedIn status is a great way to communicate to your network on a frequent and ongoing basis. I update my status at least once each day with different types of information. 10 tips for effectively using your status update to distribute useful information are presented below :-

1. Insert the title and a “shortened” URL link to one of your recent blog articles. Bit.ly is a great resource for shortening URL’s.

2. Insert the title and a “shortened” URL to a blog article you read and really liked. Particularly one that is timely, informative and relates to your “brand” or area of specialty in some way.

3. A link to a newsworthy web posting or news item. Include the title and a shortened URL. Alignment with you brand “voice” or area of specialty makes it more powerful. I like to focus on POSITIVE news as opposed to negative news.

4. A great “quote of the day.” A great source of quotes of to search the #quote “hashtag” on Twitter. Since Twitter updates are limited to 140 characters, you’ll find quotes that fit the LinkedIn status update window.

5. A brief piece of advice relevant to your brand or area of specialty.

6. A link to a great YouTube video. I recommend linking only to videos that are less than about three to five minutes in length. The video content should be consistent with your “brand” or area of specialty.

7. A request to connect with you on Twitter. Be sure to include your Twitter URL. I’ve created a “custom” domain for my Twitter URL: www.AndyOnTwitter.com.

8. An important announcement about you or your company. Try a brief “press release” type of communication.

9. A link to an article in which YOU were quoted. I give the title of the article and a shortened URL link to the article. This is a powerful PR and branding activity.

10. Recent results and key activities at work. Something like, “Just landed three new Executive Career Coaching clients this week; excited about launching those engagements!”

"Success" all depends on the second letter that is "You".

What Is Master of Business Administration (MBA) ???

Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an internationally-recognized degree designed to develop the skills required for careers in business and management. The value of the MBA, however, is not limited strictly to the business world. An MBA can also be useful for those pursuing a managerial career in the public sector, government, private industry, and other areas.
Master of Business Administration
Most MBA programs include a "core" curriculum of subjects, such as accounting, economics, marketing, and operations, as well as elective courses that allow participants to follow their own personal or professional interests. Some schools require that MBA candidates complete an internship at a company or organization, which can lead to concrete job opportunities after the program.
Quality business schools generally require that candidates have at least a few years of professional work experience before starting an MBA program. Applicants are also asked to submit Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores, academic transcripts, letters of reference, and an essay or statement of purpose that reflects why they want to pursue an MBA. Non-native English speakers usually have to prove adequate English skills with TOEFL or IELTS scores, or through previous academic experience.
The MBA is currently the most popular professional degree program in the world. Today there are over 2,500 MBA programs offered worldwide; most are offered in English. First introduced at universities in the United States around the turn of the 20th century, MBA programs have evolved to keep up with the demands of the times.
Master of Business Administration
While traditional two-year MBA programs are still common, especially in the United States, one-year programs have become increasingly popular. Part-time and online programs are also widely available for professionals not willing or unable to take a year or two off to do a full-time program. Executive MBA (EMBA) programs are part-time programs targeted at professionals with more years of managerial experience than traditional MBA candidates.

Why did I score low in CAT even after preparing hard for it?

Why did I score low in CAT even after preparing hard for it?

We realised, this is probably the most common question asked by an MBA aspirant. Despite preparing well for CAT and other entrance exams, candidates fail to get a good score.

CAT even after preparing hard for it
What follows, is the feeling of ‘Where did I go wrong?’.

While there are some brilliant answers posted on the forum for it (including answers from two CAT 100 percentilers), we decided to talk to two experts and dig out our own answers.

According to Parasharanchari, COO of Endeavour Careers, “Students get tend to carried away with preparation. Once the course preparation is over, candidates tend to jump into mocks. In some mocks, quant is easier and in others, verbal is easy. In some mocks overall difficulty level is easy and accidentally, they end up getting good scores. Such students are unable to pinpoint and identify the problem areas.”

He gave us a four step solution:-

Step 1: Course Preparation

Candidates should look at finishing the entire course by August. Do not stretch the course till the very end.

Step 2: Speed-building

Focus on speed building separately after you finish the course. Work on reduced difficulty level material and ensure you solve a lot of questions.

A candidate can progress in speed building only after developing the art of selecting questions properly. To practice question selection, one should not work on difficult questions all the time. One should focus on easy questions and figure out how to solve them quickly. This helps students understand when to leave the marginally difficult question and when to solve the easy question. Preparation is more to do with:

-Selection
-Prioritisation of questions

These two points can give a good direction to speed building. Candidates will know the topics on which they have a better control.

Step 3: Accuracy building & sectional timed tests

The next step is accuracy building or subject-wise efficiency building. Take sectional timed-tests to develop control on each section.  Pick up Quant or Verbal or Data Interpretation. Allot a sectional timing to each subject and practice. This will help develop expertise in the subject. Attempt any standard online test to work on this.

Step 4: Full-length mock test

Only after mastering Step 3, take full-length mock tests. Often, students taking full-length tests do not diagnose their problems properly. It’s essential to analyse the test properly.

Elaborating further on mock tests, Tarun Malik of Career Launcher, said, “Working hard and scoring well in CAT are two completely different things. If a candidate takes a full length three-hour mock test, they need to take off the rest of the day to analyse the test properly. Candidates generally don’t analyse mock tests properly and limit themselves to finding the correct answers. Analysing mock tests properly includes understanding selection of question. It also involves focusing on time management. How long did you take to complete the paper? Compare your time with topper’s time.”

Indeed, question selection, time management and correct attempts are a crucial part of mock test analysis. A complete and thorough analysis will lead towards improvement.

“Candidates should keep manipulate their own exam strategy well before the exam. For instance, in CAT 2014, there was no time limit for a section. One could attempt Quant first, followed by other sections (or vice versa). Candidates need to build their strategy with practice and analysis. So take mock tests, analyse it and figure out the drawbacks. Don’t end up making similar mistakes both at the beginning and end of preparation. Also, if a candidate is focusing on maths but ends up getting difficult maths section, it becomes demoralising for them. And as a result they mess up their good section,” says Mallik.

Studying and completing CAT course is just 50 per cent of preparation. The rest is sectional and mocks tests and analysis.

CAT preparation is all about tests. And tests cannot be taught. It has to be taken on their own,” says Malik.

10 Ways to Save Money While Taking Online Courses

10 Ways to Save Money While Taking Online Courses

Before you start reading, let’s just get this out of the way: college still isn’t free.
To get an education, you need to pay an arm and a leg. Almost literally. Millions of college-age students around the world can’t afford higher education, and yet prices keep skyrocketing. Feeling angry? I don’t blame you.
Lucky for you, there’s a way to rebel against those expensive universities, save some money and most importantly, get the education you need. How?
Take college courses online. As the constantly evolving world of technology opens up opportunities for online learning, more students are choosing to learn digitally. While all of this sounds great, however, there are still some costs involved. Read on to discover how you can breeze through online college without giving up any of your ligaments.
 Ways to Save Money

1. Keep Everything on Your Computer :-

College means you have to get all the regular school supplies: pencils, binders – wait a minute. You’re in online college. Why would you waste any money on that old-world stuff? You have everything you could possibly need right in front of you on your computer. Duh!
With your computer, you’ll never need pencils, paper, binders or textbooks. Everything can be accessed and stored on a computer. This is the 21st century – start living in it!

2. Eat at Home :-

Online sessions can last several hours. You’re only human, so chances are you will get hungry. Don’t let Mickey D’s tempt you – fast food and dining out often isn’t worth it. If you don’t eat out often, great! But if you do, you’re going to need to change up your eating habits.

3. Donate to Plasma and Blood Banks :-

Are you feeling generous and need some quick money? Head on over to a plasma donation center. You can get up to $200 just by donating plasma. Go to the Donating Plasma website to find a donation center near you.
Getting paid to basically lay down for an hour or so? While helping people simultaneously? You should be jumping at this opportunity!

4. Volunteer for Research :-

If you’re scared of needles, you could be in a research study instead. Many colleges and scientific organizations look for people willing to participate in experimental psychological and medical studies. And no, you unfortunately won’t be transformed into a superhuman, but you get the next best thing: money!

5. Become a Tutor :-

Are you an Einstein when it comes to a particular subject? Consider helping out people who are struggling academically by tutoring them.
Offer your services at an hourly rate and put up flyers around town at popular places for students or on online forums. You could also work through a university tutoring system.

E - Learning

6. Find a Part-Time Job :-

School may technically be your full-time job, but it doesn’t pay you to learn (wouldn’t that be amazing?). Anyway, having a part-time job will give you a steady cash flow and enhance those life skills.
You know who’s usually desperate for workers? Restaurants. Show them you’re dependable, and you’ll probably get free meals. You heard right – free food always tastes better.

7. Find Scholarships :-

Just because you’re attending online courses doesn’t mean you’re exempt from scholarships; there are many places to find scholarships and grants for online education. You can look for them through your college, but don’t stop there.
All levels of government have scholarship and financial aid programs to help students succeed. Should you stop there? No.
Non-profits like charities, community groups and religious organizations offer scholarships, and so do private companies. They’re out there, all you need to do is find them and submit a little paperwork and you could be getting a sizable amount of aid.

8. Attend School In-State :-

Online courses save you money, we know that already. But if you live in Pennsylvania and you’re taking classes from a college in Mississippi, chances are the tuition will be higher since it’s out-of-state.
Obviously that’s a mistake – especially if you live near a college. You could just walk up the road to save money instead of throwing it out the window and hoping it gets to Mississippi.

9. Save with a Student ID Card :-

You still get a student ID when you attend college online. This card is your master key for unlocking your education potential. Sound cheesy enough? Great!
This card has a lot of unlocking potential both on and off campus. You’ll find savings at the university, local businesses, and online – all because you’re a student. It’s like having the whole town clap for you because you’re going to college. Pat yourself on the back, why don’t you?

10. Create a Timeline for Yourself :-

These tips mean nothing if you don’t create a personal timeline. Lay out where you were before you enrolled, where you are now, and where you want to be in the future.
This timeline should mostly focus on your financial transactions so it will save you money. You can include other things too, such as scheduling and motivational sections.
Why spend money on college when you can spend it on things you really enjoy? With these tips, you’ll have some extra money to reward yourself from a long day’s work of school.

India’s High Growth Will Reduce Global Inequalities

India’s high growth will reduce global inequalities :-

Just as news reports of India overtaking China to become one of the fastest growing major global economies hit the headlines comes yet another study which discusses the impact of India’s higher growth on the global economy. The study brought out by the Peterson Institute for International Economics points out that successful reforms and higher economic growth in India would reduce global inequalities and pull out a few hundred millions out of poverty in the next two decades up to 2035. However, this will not only throw up new business opportunities but also exert more pressures on the environment and pose new challenges for policy makers.
The study which begins with tracing the developments in the global economy at the overall levels estimates that the global GDP of $ 98.5 trillion of 186 countries having a total population of 7.02 billion in 2013 will more than double to $ 210 trillion by 2035 while the population push up to 8.6 billion. Per capita GDP will go up from $ 14,000 to $ 24,500 during this period. The developing and emerging economies will register a per capita GDP growth of 3.5%, with the growth rates varying from 3.5% in Sub Saharan Africa, to 4.4% in China and 4.8% in India.

Developing India
And India’s growth will have a sizable impact on the global economy especially since it will reduce inequalities in the global distribution of income, if inequalities within India does not worsen substantially, and give a big boost to consumption especially in the emerging and developing economies. Though size of the population is expected to pick up from 7 billion in 2013 to 8.6 billion by 2035 with most of the increase happening in Sub Saharan Africa and also in India and parts of South and East Asia the gains on the economic front are also expected to be very significant with the number of people living below the poverty level (those with a daily income of less than $ 1.25 at 2005 prices) going down from 850 million in 2013 to 300 million by 2035. The number of working poor will decline by as much as 1.2 billion.
Consequently the number of people in the low income group earning between $1144 and $3252 will go up by around 500 million at the global level mostly in sub Saharan Africa and India. Similarly the population in the middle income group earning between $3252 and $ 8874 will also go up by another one billion with most of the additions also coming in in India and Sub Saharan Africa. However, the biggest gains are to be in the highest income group of above $ 8874 where the numbers will shoot up by around $ 1.2 billion mostly in China and other advanced economies
What is even more significant is that the marginally higher growth rate in India during the next two decades, as compared to China, will have a salutary impact of on global inequality. This is in sharp contrast to the impact of high growth China which will increase global inequalities. This is mainly because China per capita income has shot up above the global median income even by 2013. Consequently India’s higher growth will ensure that the Gini Coefficient figures, which reflects the extent of inequality, will fall from 64.9 in 2013 to 62.7 in 2035 which means that the global distribution of income will become less unequal.

Indian Currency
And the baselines scenario projects that by 2035 China will be by far the world largest economy accounting for around one fifth of the global economy (20.6%), followed by USA (13.5%), European Union (12.7%) and India (10.6%). Consequently the share of advanced economies in the population in the top decile will come down from 80% to 60% while that of China will double from 10% to 20%.
The bottom decile of the global population will be more concentrated in Sub Saharan Africa which will account for more than half. In contrast the share of India and China in the middle and top deciles will improve substantially. This will pose new challenges for both countries as the substantial increase in consumption would have a negative impact on the environment and the lives of the people.
